FAQ

Questions we hear a lot

Do I need to know anything about servers to use this?
No. Gone Wrong Servers is built for people who have never hosted anything. You pick a game, answer a few plain-language questions, and the app installs and checks everything. If you are experienced, an expert view exposes the full settings surface — nothing is locked away.
Will importing my existing server change or move my files?
No. Import manages your server exactly where it is. Your worlds, settings and mods are never moved, rewritten or deleted. If you stop using Gone Wrong Servers later, your server keeps working without it.
What happens to my world if an update breaks the server?
What happened: a game update made the server unstable. Why: game patches sometimes change save formats or break mods. What to do: roll back with World Recovery — a recovery point is taken before updates, and rollbacks are verified and never delete the world they replace.
My friends can't connect. Where do I start?
Start with Connection Setup in the app. It checks your firewall rules, walks through router port forwarding for your specific game, and then verifies that a real player can reach the server — so it tells you which link in the chain is broken instead of leaving you guessing.
Does my PC need to stay on for friends to play?
Yes — the server runs on your Windows PC, so it must be on and awake for players to join. PC Capacity in the app shows what your machine can comfortably host, and Pro's Guardian can bring servers back automatically after a reboot.
Is the Free version actually enough to host a server?
Yes. Free includes everything required to install, configure, connect, update, back up and recover a server. Pro adds automation and protection — scheduled backups, automatic updates, and the Guardian watchdog — for servers you want running without daily attention.
When can I get it?
Gone Wrong Servers is in a Founders Beta. Join Founders Access with your email and you'll be first in line for beta builds and launch news. Beta software can have rough edges — that's what the beta is for.
Which games are supported?
Palworld, ARK: Survival Ascended, Valheim, Enshrouded and 7 Days to Die at launch, with more planned. Each game gets first-class treatment: game-aware setup, settings, backups and connection checks.
